BLUETOOTH PAIR TO NIKON N SERIES TOTAL STATION IN TRIMBLE ACCESS

  • Power on total station
  • Break plane by rotating scope, vertically and horizontally to close the first window
  • Level the instrument, select ESC button at the bottom left to exit the level screen

  • Select Menu button at the top, left of power button
  • Use Arrow keys and yellow REC/ENT button at bottom right to select Settings then COMM

  •  Confirm Port: BT to controller 
  • On data collector in Trimble Access, go to the three lines or Menu, Settings, Connections, Bluetooth tab, select Search at the bottom of the window 

  • The Nikon will appear on the left side under Discovered devices as the serial number in this case- Nikon: D501216. Select it and tap on the blue Pair at the bottom right of the screen
  • This example is with a TSC5 so this screen is from the android operation With a TSC7 with windows 10 operating system this step will look different. The Pair with Nikon: D501216 screen will come up. Select the green Pair to complete the pairing

  • For the new device that has been paired, select Connect to conventional instrument and Accept
  • In the connections screen, Bluetooth tab, select Accept at the bottom right

  • Go to the three lines or Menu in Trimble Access, Settings, Survey Styles
  • Select your Survey style, and Edit at the bottom right

  • Confirm Manufacturer: Nikon, and Model: Other. Select Accept at the bottom right and then Store your Survey Style

  • On the Nikon, ESC out of your settings and menu until you return to the screen displaying the HA, VA, and SD. This screen needs to be displayed before starting the survey on the data collector
  • In Trimble Access on the data collector, select Measure, Nikon survey style and then Station Setup or Resection as needed
