Calculate Points in Trimble Access Using Taped Distances

                                                            Here’s a morning cup!

                                                                  Did you Know?

Taped Distances within Trimble Access version 2024.10 has been updated and is a quick and easy way to calculate points on a bearing or azimuth at specific distances from one known point or two known points (previously only two known points). Select the hamburger at the top left and select Cogo then Taped distances.

In the Start with option select either Two points (default) or One point. For One point enter the single reference point by either selecting on the map or typing it in the Start point box (the desired direction will be determined by selecting in the map). Enter an elevation if necessary. Select Enter then Accept. In the next window, enter the Point name, Code and desired Length of the calculated points. The next calculated point is displayed for reference before being stored. Select Add to create the first point. Continue to select Add to create as many points as needed along the bearing or azimuth assigned.

For Two points enter the points in the desired direction that will be used for the calculated points by either selecting on the map or typing them in the Start point and End point boxes. Note: The direction of the calculated point can be changed by increments of 90 degrees by clicking on the map. Follow the same steps as listed above to continue to calculate points as needed.
