Processing Static Data
PROCESSING STATIC DATA
To retrieve the static file from the receiver, select the three lines at the top left, select INSTRUMENT, then RECEIVER FILES, then IMPORT FROM RECEIVER.

Select just to the left of the file name(s) that you want to download from your base receiver and into your project data on the data collector. If you need to, reference the file name that you wrote down in your field book when you started your base. You will see that the file type should now be a .T04 or .T02 file since it is completed. Once the file or files that correspond to your current job are selected, press the IMPORT button at the bottom right. The file will begin importing. STAY CLOSE TO THE RECEIVER SINCE THESE ARE TRANSFERRING THROUGH THE BLUETOOTH CONNECTION.

Once the file(s) transfer to the data collector, navigate to the Trimble Data folder, then Projects, then the project folder that the survey was started in, then there will be a new folder named IMPORT. The static file is stored as a .T04 or .T02 depending on which receiver it was collected in. In this example 33021380.T02 is the file needing to be copied and pasted into the correct directory for your company’s computer system.

Convert file to RINEX format
Open Convert to RINEX software and select FILE.

Click OPEN, and browse to the location the file was saved to, open that file, and you should see something similar to the following…

Ensure all of the receiver settings are correct.

Click FILE, then CONVERT. Once the conversion has been done, the screen will appear as below. You can now close the Convert to Rinex software.

The RINEX conversion will create multiple files in the same directory where the .T02 or .T04 file was saved on your computer. The .o file needs to be submitted to OPUS. Open a web browser and go to the OPUS website. http://www.ngs.noaa.gov/OPUS/

Fill in the correct information on the website. Note: the antenna height must be in meters. Depending on the length of the observation, submit the data through Rapid-Static or Static uploads. You should receive an email from OPUS with the processed data within a few minutes to a few hours.
